A living Jeff Saenz rehashes one of the gnarliest electric stories I’ve ever heard. All of this happened after our last podcast almost 8 years ago! Jeff’s is still thriving in this new life playing and recording music while putting together the pieces to get back in the wind. He’s got a charity show this Saturday at the Double Wide in Dallas where he will be raising money for kids who have had similar experiences. You’re a real inspiration Jeff, thank you!
#490 Joe Zito
Met Joe at The Happy Valley Rally a few weeks ago in Pennsylvania and I could tell right off the rip he like talking motorcycles. We start at jockey journal and end up at the Biltwell 100. Its an epic conversation that I’m sure will take you back or learn ya thing or two. Thanks for you time Joe see you in the wind.
#489 Paul Cauthen & Tejas Thunder Moto Club
After Paul’s first show back at TN Motorcycle Music Revival he came out to my neck of the woods to play an acoustic show at the Aztec Theatre and I met up with him and the rest of the Tejas Thunder Moto Club. Greg Giannukos, Andrew White, and Taylor Garrigan. After a long day in the saddle the fellas opened up about their first run in with Velardi, and Paul’s recent battle with cancer. Due to some technical difficulties most of the conversation got scrapped so I met up with Paul before a recent show at the Kessler and talked about his career, his father and grandfather being his inspiration to ride, and how a Shovelhead helped solidify one of the his greatest albums, Room 41. Check out his tour schedule here and watch out for a Harley Davidson Limited Road Glide while out on the open road as he mows down the miles playing shows across the country.
#488 Pat Patterson Ledsled Customs
Headed to Happy Valley Rally in the camper me and Pat had a minute to talk about dirtsters, choppers, and all the parties he’s got going on in Sturgis at the Buffalo Chip. Follow @ledsledcustoms for more and don’t forget about the @mamatried chopper show at Full Throttle as well as the Hooligan Hare Scrambles.
#487 Stray
Stray is an incredible visual artist that was apart of my Prints Paint and Steel art show last year during Born Free Texas. He’s got a sportster he’s ridden everywhere and you’ve probably seen at a show in your neck of the woods. He recently just guided some dudes from the outback across the US and made a film for them. You wanna do the same? Hit up @straycatstump
#486 Bj Goodtimes Motorcycle
BJ is a savage and you’re going to love this story! Goes from buying a sportster at a dealership when he was twenty to sitting in the same shop with his name on the building recording a podcast with Danger Dan! Epic run bud! Glad to be a part of your story now!

#483 Mexico Recap with Carlos @ SpaceX
Exactly what it sounds like. Bryan and I stopped by Boca Chica Ranch to check out the Space X facility and go over our recent expedition with Carlos.
#482 Don Hyde
A Texas legend living in Mexico. The” last hippy to be ran out of Austin” - Joe Nick Patowski That happened in 1967! I had to meet him, and thought I’d record our conversation for posterity. This story and parts of this story have been told in various forms over the years so don’t stop here. If you like psychedelics, appreciate music, or like Texas psychedelic music you’ll enjoy this podcast. Hell if you like interesting folks recalling stories from a time before I was born, you’ll enjoy this podcast. Thanks Don!
#481 Charley Davidson aka Carlos from Mexico
First stop in Mexico was Monterrey for tacos and a Top Chico. Found Tequila and Carlos instead. This guys a ruler! His English is way better than my Spanish so you are in luck! No FEAR!
#480 Greg Giannukos
What’s up Greg?!?!? After a small glitch in the matrix I’m finally getting this one out! Before I left for Mexico I rode down to Austin to catch up with one of my favorite photographers in all the land. While finding a niche in capturing musical masterminds he’s also explored motorcycles and other cultures from around the world. A perfect example of how a photo is worth a thousand words and sometimes the person behind the lense is also worth hearing, the silver tongue devil, Greg Giannukos.
#479 Chris Huber
From a mountain top in the desert at Rattlesnake Ranch I got to learn a little bit more about my friend Chris Huber, who might be more fond of the desert and deserted things myself.
#478 Matt with Gremlin Wiring
Shovelhead shoot kickstart! Come on back! See you at BornFree Texas!!!
#477 Kiki of Rebels with a Cause
Another TAKEOVER episode! Kiki tells us about her home country of Pakistan and blows all my preconceptions out of the water. Check out her work at Rebelstour.com
#476 Jay Allen
What a life! Jay’s been through it, hustled the whole way, and still seems young and spry! From caves, to bars, land speed records we cover a lot but I’m sure there more we missed. Thank you sir.
#475 Jaybird Lost Souls Customz
Daytona, 45’s, and racing! Jaybird started in AZ and I headed there shortly after this conversation. Jaybird has a shop in Pittsburgh and its a one stopper but it sounds like he just got bit by the racing bug.
#474 David Kreidler
David Kreidler is the Exhibits Curator at Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaulkee Wisconsin. Just before Mama Tried I got to sit down and learn about the roles of his position, communicating with masses, and some of the past, current and future exhibits. I believe this perspective will give you a new way to look at all museum.
#473 Austin Peck
An incredible film maker and friend, Austin Peck and I catch up after an epic dirt bike ride through the high desert to talk about perspective, transformation, and the human experience. Through a lens or on two wheels sharing experiences can have a profound effect on how we see the world. Just talking to Austin often does that for me. Thank you for your insight.
